Baltimore Show report, 2nd attempt

Arose at 3:45 for a 6:00 am flight to Baltimore. A 25 train ride from the airport left me right across the street from the Convention Center, for someone coming in by air it couldn't have been simpler, there were one or two stops I don't think I would have wanted to get off at, but as someone told me, it seems a pretty safe ride. I was early so I found a deli right across from the center and had a nice breakfast for $4, not many places in New England where you can still do that.
They let in early buyers at 9:00am, for $100, I can't imagine paying that to get into a show that has been picked for two days, and they also have it Saturday and Sunday. I went in at 10, huge Bourse, bigger than the Philadelphia Show, my first quick trip around took me 2 1/2 hours, this when all I was looking at was slabbed pieces, and no gold.
I didn't get to meet any members here other than dealers, but it was nice to meet the few that I did, I introduced myself to Julian but he was busy so I didn't hang around. Charmy's's table was busy and I didn't get to say hello until late in the afternoon when it seemed the show got quiet. I spoke with the CRO guys, mostly John, among their great display were a couple of Fugio pieces that I liked, I think I will want one someday soon. I met Rick from RCtoners he had some nice stuff, among non members I liked the things Disruptek had to offer, I ended up buying a HTT with super color from them, Enzio Romano had some nice commems, Evan Gale also, although he was gone from his table it seems a lot. Met the ladies from JJ Teaparty, fellow New Englanders, Tom Hyland, Joe Kaminski has very nice things, George from Legend showed me some patterns, but with the money I have spent in the last few months I decided against them, talked with Gary Adkins and told him how I had learned about him here, Bonnie from Albanese, she added a couple of commems I am in the market for to my wanted list, purchased my Conders from Gary Groll, very nice fellow, spent a long time telling me about the Conders. Liberty rare Coins had a nice proof Seated Half but nothing seemed to be really speaking to me and in the end I had the before mentioned HTT and two Conders.
Stephanie's postings seem to have had an effect on my buying, first they were my introduction to US tokens and then to Conders. There are a couple of animal series, one by Spence, the other by the guy who I'm not going to try and post his name here but the first three letters are Pid, the last four another name for a rooster!
In my antiquing world I have followed a theme with animals over the years, Staffordshire, windmaill weight, weathervanes, and I really liked what was available in Conders, I will probably pursue a series there. Many others who's names escape me now. Show ended at 6, I left a few minutes later and went back to the airport where I got a bite to eat and then browsed in Borders until my 9:10 flight, which was late. I didn't arrive home until Midnight, pretty well spent.
All in all it was a great trip, I love the big shows and already have my ticket to Orlando in January! Anyone here who thinks they can't get away or don't have the time for a big show should consider a one day trip, red eye in the morning and an evening flight home, may cost you a couple hundred dollars but money well spent.

Did you (or anyone) happen to see the Seated Liberty Club's table? I'd love to hear what they had on display, did not have the opportunity to go to the show.

How could I forget that, a simply stunning collection of Seated pieces, I spent 20-25 minutes just drooling on the cases!

I'm sorry Chris,
<< <i>The $100 early bird fee is to get in early each day of the show and part of the fee has traditionally gone towards the Baltimore Children's Hospital. It appears you had a great time and that is nice to read. >>
If it's going to charity I withdraw my objection!

I had the opportunity to display the seated dollars along with the great sets of Len and Bill but could not get the weekend open. Hopefully next time I get the chance again, it was an honor to get the invitation and next time i'll make sure we show the best of our set! I'm sorry I missed the display though, all i've heard is great things and that does not surprise me one bit!
The LSCC guys are top notch.

Sounds like trying to read one of Bear's rambles.
Thanks for the report - sounds like you had a good time.
(Just remember, as Bear said, more paragraphs make a long post easier to read - especially for us old people. Don't be afraid to put in a few more "hard returns"!)

Could be worse. He could have written everything on single lines separated by spaces.

Those seated coins would've been great to see. My transition from Walkers to Seated halves is not going very smoothly. I need help. always.
