Classic commem guys, is there a premium for this?

repunched MM on a 1936 San Diego. Looks very similar if not identical to this one
It's in a rattler, too, if that makes a difference

mighty fine looking MS-64. The luster is just a real
monster. Well done indeed.

Thanks, Bear. It's about as "dripping with luster" as I've ever seen a coin in my 30+ years of collecting.

<< <i>Thanks, guys. She really does look like she was coined from pure mercury in hand. It's trippy.
that would be a messy strike, and probably violate OSHA compliance for the mint workers.
btw, Mercury freezing point: -38.72 degrees C

It can be paired with a DDO-001/RPM-001 also.

Sure looks to have the DDO, too. Quintuple doubling on "LIBERTY", most clearly seen on the top of the bottom loop of the "B", the bottom of the "E" "R" and the arch of the "R".
Here's my coin:
And the DDO discovery coin:

<< <i>I don't know about the variety's value either, but it sure is cool. And if the reverse looks as good as the obverse I think it could upgrade to an MS65. Nice coin!

I agree, if the reverse is as nice, I would even say send it back in for a 65...

$145 in MS-64 and
$175 in MS-65
Leave well enough alone, It is a beautiful old Rattler Holdered coin.
They are collectibles by themselves.

I agree, leave it alone in the holder and don't even THINK of selling it for less than somewhere between an MS66 to MS67 price. If you went to PCGS, I think you'd get and MS66 and NGC would, easily give you an MS66 Star and maybe a 67.
