Here's one of my favorites, representing an undying desire for freedom by patriots who managed to keep the partitioners at bay for a few months, long enough to coin some money: Poland November Uprising ducat from 1831.
.....GOD
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
Not because its the best example out there, but because I read quite a lot about James VI (1st of England/ Britain) so I can associate with it. I also always wanted one and it did take some digging deep + selling off other coins to buy it. I watched it for several months while I saved hoping no one would buy it before me.
