(SOLD!) Supersharp Roman silver antoninianus of Gallienus (253-268 AD)

SOLD! Well, swapped, actually. Goin' back to the guy I got it from, since I owed him money. If you are interested in it, PM Don/"ajaan". Trust me, it's a sweet silver ant. It was my favorite middle-empire silver piece from my old Roman collection. Frankly I am surprised to still have it after selling off most of that set. I suspect that is because my scan does it little justice, and also because third-century stuff doesn't have the following that first-century stuff does.

Silver Roman antoninianus of the emperor Gallienus, struck at Antioch.

Obverse- IMP GALLIENVS PF AVG, radiate draped bust right.

Reverse- LETITIA AVG G , Laetitia standing left holding wreath and anchor.

Almost certainly buried in a hoard soon after it was struck and subsequently very well preserved. Terrific eye appeal.
Provenance: Ex- John C. Greener collection, August 1973. I purchased it from Don Rupp in May 2007.

$52.00 (free shipping).

Bear in mind that the image below is a scan and not a digital photograph. In hand the coin is bright and lovely, with some pale orange toning.
