  • Good grades Bill; and I'm betting there were some beautifully toned coins in there.

I know you have a great eye and I'm also betting there were more than one or
two that would have made PL 67 a few years old.

I'm working with a dealer in trying to get some NGC PL 67's to cross. He sends a ton of
them in and tells me only about 40% of them do. Ratio is a little better in MS
    but not much.

Glad to see you back posting again...

It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

That would be a very astute bet. image The nickel is the only un-toned coin in this group.
The two 1936 dollars are very pretty. I'll post some images of them later.

I am curious about the 1962 Dollars- were you expecting PLs?

Hi Kat, I was. But I was not expecting so many PL65's. I thought one would 67. Oh well. They are all heavy cameos with some pretty toning.

Your usual level of grades. That 1936 $1 MS65 must be a looker. Did you TrueView them too? Sorry for the 1918 25c, something tells me that it will look like a good 63. image

Bill, if you don't mind me asking, why do you buy and submit so many examples of the same denomination and year? Is it the great Canadian colours that transform two theoretically identical coins into two unique colorful pieces of art that draw you to this practice? Because from what I remember, you don't even get to keep them very long, several of them end up doing great in some of the last honest no reserve ebay auctions, thus sharing your wealth with the high bidders. image

Hi Dimitri, I don't mind at all. You are absolutely correct in your observation.
Many times, I buy sets of coins from the same seller and the toning is what I
go for and hope other coin collectors feel the same way when I sell them.
I try to keep a few, and sell the bulk of my submission to cover my expenses.
Plus, I truly enjoy passing along the coins I have to other like-minded collectors.

The AU58 25c is very pretty for an AU58 and I just had to get it graded.

I am done with TrueView for these types of submissions. At $20 each,
I have to be much more selective about what I submit for that service.

The silver Canadian Elizabeth II Dollars are very interesting. I prefer looking for MS examples, however, recently I have found some attractive PLs- enough for a submission at some point.

  • Still looking or buy a couple of your PL dimes Bill.

Now that you're got a brand new load.....?? image
