Resubmit?

Just bought this from Bob S and I can't figure out why it's only a 6. What do you think - resubmit?

  • Maybe the T/B centering. Looks nice though.

horizontal line or print mark across ernie's throat - is it on the card or the holder? If that's a print line or a scratch it might be enough to make a 7 into a 6

Man, thought you guys could figure this out.

I've joined the bandwagon. I've figured out how to crack cases with no evidence, I replace lower grade cards with higher grade cards, and I can reseal the case to loook good as new.image
  • I can't believe SidePocket fell for that. image

Nice card, good luck with the 7.

Looks like a borderline 6/7. I have no idea what the card is worth in a 7 versus a 6. I certainly do not think it's a slam dunk to be a 7... hence it's in a 6 holder.

Not sure it would be worth the try... especially if it came back just a 1/2 grade bump...or god forbid worse...

Sort of on track with what Jim already said .... I'm wondering if a "no qualifier" request pulled it down from an 8 or 7?

Those corners looks pretty sharp to me. I have a couple of 8s with similar corners.

    Just a wild guess!

No print lines on it, just a little scuff on the holder. Maybe the t/b is holding it back. Just seems a shame to be in a 6 holder. BobS, please find me a 59 Gibson!

I just measured the card t/b and it looks like it just missed the "7" standard. I measured it twice .... 65/35 and 67/33.
That being said, I'll take "6s" all day long that look like that! AWESOME looking card for the grade!

An excerpt from PSA's grading standards of a NM 7:

"Centering must be approximately 70/30 to 75/25 or better on the front............."

That being said, the above card's T/B centering is within the tolerance for a 7.

Based on the VCP pasted above I do not think it's worth the "risk" or cost of submitting. It's a decent looking 6. Keep it.
