GOLD PROOF BUFFALOS....WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM???

Ordered my first buffalo gold proof two hours after they went on sale.My order on the mint site says order in process.Reserved. My cc put a hold on the funds...thought I was in.Expected date of shipping was 11/12/09.

Yesterday my cc released the funds no longer held.Heard the rumors that 7000 planchets met with an accident.

Does anyone know for sure what is going on with them??

  • they charge and release

    then charge right before shipping

as long as mint order tracking
says in process and reserved, you are alright but will not get it sent today

    expected shipping date usually listed

    hello mikeyg..
i placed two early orders, that were shipped and received in a few days. i also heard about the 7,000 returns. i can say that they are available over the counter at the mint store kiosks in washington dc. both retailers have indicated that they are selling well, so they seem to have a "no-problem" supply channel. i hope they ship to those who ordered soon. i do notice that pcgs has not yet listed them on the 2009 First Strike cut-off dates list.

FS cutoff should be around 3 December as that's when mine were shipped.

pending credit card charge automatically expires if not charged. Mint's initial hit on the card is to "ping" it to make sure it is a valid account. My order was at 12:10 day of sale and i'm still "in process." No help on the telephone so don't bother calling the mint. Just gotta wait it out.

It is normal for the cc to release the hold on the funds after 3-7 days. They will still honor the charge when it comes in so you need to be careful not to go over your limit. --Jerry

  • My thanks to all who responded.Got alot of good information... and yes a good point was made about having enough on the cc to pay for it. Have already posted two instances where MS. mike used the cards and didnt leave

enough on the cards for the mint. One I caught in time the other I didnt.Needless to say when an order is pending I hold the cards image
