  • There are a grand total of four sets registered in that category. I'm afriad you aren't terribly high on PCGS's priority list as of now.image

I haven't heard anything about the Seated Dimes weighting, but I would guess they will be out right around the same time as the Mercury set. Who knows what the future is in terms of which series they do. I am hoping all the Mercury traffic on this board will accelerate when the Mercury series is done. I say that knowing I will drop due to my collecting the series backwards from the end (mostly). But it will be good to know which ones are weighted more.

  • I just have this creeping feeling that PCGS is gonna totally screw the weighting thingy...

    Do they reward condition rarities?
I see with the Lincolns they give bonuses for RD and stuff...

  • They work it like this (I think)

Each coin is "weighted" on a scale of 1 to 10, by absolute rarity. A "10" coin counts 10 times as much as a "1" coin. So, 10 "1" coins are equal to 1 "10" coins in the registry, assuming they are of the same grade.

So, not much regard to condition rarity, but the scarce dates will really shoot you up there!

  • So they give condition ratity bonuses to Lincolns but not seated Dimes?
Now... What constitutes a 8 from a 9, a 7 from a 8, and so on. Where do they get their rarity figures from??
