How Many Lincolns Have Been Minted?

Someone with time on his hands must have gone back over mintage data for the past 101 years and calculated, approximately,

"how many Lincoln cents have been minted in that time span."

I'd count circulation strikes, proofs and everything else. Just curious.

Would be hard to get it exact since there seems to be disagreement on even the actual mintage of the first year proof Lincoln cents.

I'd be interested to know as well. I use half a trillion as an
estimate but that's a little low now days.

Anyone with a "little time on his hands" can get a good estimate by picking up a copy of the 2010 Red Book, turning to page 114 and with a calculator start adding numbers shown thru page 121. Then add 5,000,000,000 for an estimate for 2009 and let us all know what you got. Steve

Gerry, Your the math guy, I can't count that high, but google works great. 455,300,140,918 Including some that are not listed in the link below.

I am not sure how many have been minted, but I am pretty sure most of them are spread out all over my house in draws, under cushions, and in very heavy jars.
