BBCE Group Rip, 1981 Donruss Golf Wax Case $135.00 per box

I am starting a group rip on a BBCE 1981 Donruss Golf Wax Case. There are sixteen boxes in the case, and each box will be $135.00 plus $8.00 shipping ($2.00 shipping on each additional box if you want more than 1). All monies will be paid directly to BBCE and all boxes will ship directly from them. I will post payment instructions once it sells out. Please reply here if you want a box and how many. No PM's to reserve a box, only posts here.

36 packs X 7 cards = 252 cards. How many sets on average would that make? Are there 66 cards?

Alright, last try. Looks like I'm going to have the distinction of having posted the only BBCE group rip that didn't get any participants other then the thread creator.

I know i'm a few years late on this, but i'd love to pick up a box of these. Steve still has a case on his website available. So would anyone else be interested?

The case is $2400. With a 10% discount it comes out to $135 a box still.

If you'll check with Steve and confirm the pricing with shipping, then I'll update the post and get the list going You might ask for a bigger discount if it's the same case that has been sitting there for 3 years.

    Hi Mike,

I can definitely contact Steve about this case, but I don't want to waste his time if we can't sell more then 4 boxes. So let's see if we can get some more people to commit and i'll give him a call. So who wants some golf cards?

    Thanks
    Jeff

Isn't the price a little high for a box? Yes, I get that we are buying from BBCE, but, I think $135 is a little high. I would be interested at a lower price. Alan

Keep in mind the price is always higher when buying from an unopened case.

Actually, single boxes from BBCE are 180. Breaking the case allows a better discount.

I saw some loose packs of these at a local antique store for $2.50 a pack. Should I have bought them?

Boxes on eBay (not sealed from a case like this thread is talking about) are frequently $100.00 and less, so unopened packs for $2.50 is about right.

That's about right for the seller at this store then. It's a consignment antique store and the guy had all kinds of stuff at very reasonable if buying for yourself and not for resale. Picked up a bunch of 77 Cloth Stickers last weekend. Most were a buck a piece with the stars at 3 to 4.

I just don't think there is any comparison between a box and a box from a sealed case. If it's $100 vs $135 that's quite a bargain in IMO.

I would probably be in for one, if I hadn't spent $$$ on the last break. I do like this set, but the prices aren't any higher than they were years ago. I remember buying a pack on a whim about 17 or 18 years ago at a show. I want to say that I spent $6 on that pack.

I think getting a mint box out of a case for $135 is a fair price. I would rather pay this then try my luck with the $100 box on ebay that Krukcards is selling. So who else is in? Come on lets not let this break take another 3 years.image

Maybe we should try again when we are a little further away from spending 41k as a group.
