AU or XF on this Morgan?

I bought this Morgan thinking it was AU, but now think it might be only XF. I was going by the detail shown in the pictures, but I am now having second thoughts

I haven't received the coin yet, but here is a link to the auction. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hard to tell from the pic, but I don't think it makes AU. Sorry.

If the surfaces are as lifeless as shown in the images I wouldn't keep it. I doubt it's AU and may have been heavily dipped. A coin with that much detail should have some cartwheel. I see none. I suspect it may have been dipped off to make it whiter. Trouble IMHO.

AU for that coin would be almost ugly or about ugly.

May just be a lousy scan. AU to my eyes. May have some luster and cartwheel when
you see it in hand. Look at his other silver auctions and they all have the same look.

AU50 details on that one in my opinion, I would worry about the possibility of altered surfaces.

MooseSr: In reply to your above quoted post, from the photos provided (see below) IMO the coin appears to have altered surfaces resulting from an abrasive cleaning. It appears to have XF details but IMO would not likely grade due to altered surfaces.

I would say XF but that is still desirable!!! Nice pick up.

I'm leaning strongly toward AU due to the extensive details that remain on both sides of the coin. But, of course, things like lustre, surface originality, and eye appeal that can only be determined in hand will have the ultimate say.
