Do A-Mark 10-0Z bars come without a serial#?

I've got one. Just wondering if it's the real deal. Thanks. Take care. jws.

Old type or new? The older ones have Assay numbers but no serial. I don't recall on the new bars.

HMMM. Definitely not new. Has a place where the serial # usually is but it's blank. No assay # either. Everything else appears Kosher. Perplexed. Take care.

I saw those at my B&M a couple of years ago. It was his best seller at the time... he was charging $1.49 over spot (which was $12 +/-). They looked 'new' back then.

He said the 'blank area' was so the owner could put whatever serial or mark they wanted, for their own inventory records... "hmmmmm"

So called premium bars were $2.49 over spot... art bars were $3.49 over spot.

I'm on the west coast... they're fine over here...
  • Julio: I have several A-Mark bars and some have a serial number and some have just a blank spot where the number could be placed.

I have some Silvertown 10 oz bars with a place for the serial number but are blank.

I have A-Mark and Silvertown 10 bars with and without serial numbers. I don't give it a second thought anymore.
  • Here's an example of the Silvertowne bars with/without numbers.

  • There's a 100 oz Silver Towne bar at local B&M. No serial number. Is Silver Towne highly sought after/regarded?

Silvertown bars are completely legitimate and should trade for full silver value in all venues. Not sure about the "highly sought after/regarded" part.

As Perryhall mentioned, Silvertowne is a legitimate company and dealers will buy them without hesitation, same with Amarks.
