    Turns out - yes.

    The four great inventions (as taught to every chinese grammar school kid in the 1950's) were: Paper, Printing, Magnetic Compass and Gunpowder.

    I don't think they have an Olympic medal to honor counterfeiters, but I hear they have tons of counterfeit Olympic medals.
