I think it was intentional.

I also think that if A-Rod had Howard's numbers (esp the K's) thus far this WS, he would be getting far more heat from the media than Howard is getting.

EVen the Phillies coach on the bench saw it...just no thte home plate ump. Not a bad throw by Johnny. The Yanks need to lite Blanton up right now.

Howard missed it badly...a very nice break for the Phils.

Tied up and after that first inning when Blanton looked like he was serving up batting practice...I'll gladly take it at this point.

Anyone else notice the obvious pine tar on Blanton's cap? I thought Girardi might bring it up when he went out to confront the umps when both teams were warned earlier in the game about hitting batters, but I guess not. Maybe he doesn't want to get Blanton kicked out of the game lol...

Have they been shifting on Tex this series? I havent noticed it and when they did it on that steal they screwed Lidge. They likely did not expect a steal but Lidge was stuck throwing meatballs after that.

So A-Rod carries us through two series, then, as the media pile up on him for two poor games (one against a brilliant Cliff Lee), he counters with a momentum shifting homer in Game 3 and the GAME WINNING RBI of Game 4.

Mo continues to show why he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest ever, at his position. A homegrown Yank to boot. This game provided some showcase for him, since his stellar 9th was juxtaposed with Lidge's collapse. And Lidge's last season was one of the best ever.

As a temporary Phillies fan, I am very disappointed in Cole Hamels and Brad Lidge.

They have no idea how annoying the Yankees fans are going to be here on the Yankee / Red Sox fan border.
