    Wow!

    Super nice find...
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

With those two long reverse "scratches", I'd say you are locked at 65, maybe 66.

    Nice looking '55-S though
  • I'll say a 66 but with a little luck i hope you get a 67 for that one.
    Nice looking coin for sure.

I wish you luck, but look at these hard before sending them anywhere. You need to hit 67 to make these worth the effort
and the reverse hits on many of the letters on this piece would probably keep this one well out of the 67 range.
    Check the others carefully also.
    Good luck.

edited to add - that is a darn nice 55S

I see what you are saying about the small hits but the scratches are from the die. They are die scratches.

    Nice 55-S!

The long polish lines on the rev might be from polishing out a clash.

The little bar from the throat might be a clash remnant like the one below:

Yes there is definitely a clash under the chin on the obv.

Those die polish lines should not effect the grade.

The pictures don't lie... actually looks better in hand IMHO.

That is a sweet coin. They look like die lines to me and are very common on Lincolns. I'd say 66. A couple of small marks on the reverse hold it back IMHO.

  • Easy 66 RD. Great coin!

Those are just raised die marks, no effect on the grade unless really bad. I'd say a solid 66 Red. If the picture is accurate then not enough "pop" and "flash" to make 67, but it is a nice 66 though.
