Could someone please tell me...

how to tell the difference between an 1878 7TF Rev. of '78, and an 1878 7TF Rev. of '79 Morgan? I have looked at pictures till I'm blue in the face, and for the life of me cannot discern the difference. Thanks in advance. Tony

It has to do with the angle of the feathers on the top arrow. One is parallel and one is slanted. Also the parallel feathers depict a concave breast while the slanted arrow variety has a convex breast. I believe the latter is the so-called reverse of '79 because thereafter all feathers on the top arrow are slanted. FYI - The Red Book has some good images.

Thank you DieClash. I have a 2004 Red Book handy, and I'll take a look now. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself.image
