Price help 1824 Capped Half - O-108

I've just been told that my pcgs au55 1824 half is an Overton variety - O-108, a rarity 2

Can any one of you Bust Half experts give me an idea of current retail value?

Thanks! image

It sure looks better than AU-55. Thats how photographs can fool a person.

It has some decent luster left, yes - I have bigger pics but not on this computer. Assuming it's a solid 55 I'm just curious if the variety adds any premium. Thanks for the reply!

    Hi Rob,
An R2 does not add any premium to a CBH.
I like the lustrous look on your coin. She appears to have
been dipped at some point. but this looks like the right way
to dip a coin. Just enough to remove possibly ugly toning, but
not too much to mute the luster.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Ah Thanks JRocco - Really appreciate it!

I bought it about 10 years ago and never realized it had an "O" number.

Thanks again for taking the time!

Capped Bust halves generally don't have a premium, based solely on the rarity of the Overton variety, until you get to R-4.

Judging from that photo, I'd bet that this coin cartwheels with the best of them. Very nice coin!

Hard to tell how nice the coin is from the small picture. Retail should be around $450 in the PCGS holder. Prices have come down quite a bit recently.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
