Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • I'm all over the place. But I'm going to start thinning out my collection and then get focused on a set of T218 champs.

    Edit: Nice Ali. image
  • Slowly working on 1968 topps and in the process of having a 51 redback set graded.

Also looking for more information on 1951 Topps Blueback panels. Father gave me 2 and I had them graded. Looks like there have only been 6 to 8 of each panel graded by PSA and SGC combined. One of mine came back as a 9 and is the best example graded.

My sig line shows most of it, but impulse buys are a must. I've been picking up some nice raw cards from the 50's-1973 that really don't fit in with anything else.

I change focus quickly and often. I may do 30 days of cold turkey like the 1941Goudey Guy is doing.

I'm down to just (5) 2008 goudey SP's to finish off that headache.

I need a cold one, I must be going.

Looking for a 1986 Sports Illustrated test sticker, if you have one, I am willing to trade you a 1991 Donruss resealed unopened pack, well at one-time it was unopen, now it is resealed which is just as good as an uopened pack, except that it filled with off centered commons that are worthless, but would be a valued addition to anyone's collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I haven't been collecting anything lately. Kind of burned out, out of collecting for the last 2-3 years.

    I think it's a combination of...

-Changes in sports. Baseball, and the NBA just aren't the same. Its hard to get excited about collecting new things. I haven't watched many NHL games since Gretzky was with the Rangers. Shows you where I'm at.

-Changes in PSA grading. Not sure if I'll ever get into the half grades or the new holders. It's a broken record, but I like things the way they were.

    -Leveling off of prices.

-Changes on ebay. Buying anything isn't as fun as it use to be.

    -And this economic recession.

Nothing at this time.Just waiting to send several 53 Color bowmans to PSA for grading.Once I have the set fully graded.I retire from the collectors arena and hopefully travel to major shows around the country with the hope of setting up and selling everything from years of collecting.I have outlived my Son who like me collected when he was young and my grand kids have absolutley no intrest in cards except for the money they can get for them.So I will just make the money to help supplement my retirement from my real job in Dec2010.

  • Robin Ventura - mainly 1988-1997 (some 1998 stuff), the first player I collected as a kid when I started in 1989. I always am looking for new cards of his that I don't have (which is a lot).

Matt Luke - appears in 1996, 1998-1999 sets. I collect every base, parallel, TTM auto, etc I can get. I will gladly trade in others' favor for his cards. I watched him play for the Dodgers in 1998 as a journeyman-type (easy to root for) and he played well during his short stint, which was during a time I didn't really have a favorite Dodger on the team, plus he was a friendly signer after a game (a game in which I was physically assaulted by an Anaheim Angel).

Endless copies of the following base RC's: 1990-91 Upper Deck French Sergei Fedorov, 1993 Upper Deck Mike Piazza, 1990 Upper Deck Kevin Maas, 1992-93 Upper Deck Martin Brodeur and Eric Lindros (#88 card) - Again, I buy every copy I find (in person), save every one I pull, and trade in anyone's favor for copies of them.

Errors & Variations, though I am slowly selling off my collection and these days, am more into it for the fun of a new "discovery" and sharing the insane amount of information I have obtained since their heyday with other player/master-set collectors. Probably my favorite nook of the hobby which is likely nostalgia-driven, due to getting into the hobby when they were wrestling with promos as the #1 thing to have.
