I have "loved this game" since I was 6 years old! If you're a fan too, let me hear from you!

I have some reservations about the C's chances for a title this year for a number of reasons:
1. LeBron
2. KG's knees
3. Rondo playing for a max contract
4. Big Baby out for 2 months (lord knows what kind of shape he'll be in when he returns)
Not to say they can't win it, but there's a lot of obstacles to overcome.
Looking forward to seeing the Thunder this year.

Go MAVS!!!
<< <i>Looking forward to seeing the Thunder this year. >>
Yes sir! I'll say it right now.....in 2 seasons, the OKC Thunder will be one of the top 3 teams in the Western Conference.
However, as a big Russell Westbrook fan I am most excited for the OK Thunder. I already have my tickets for them here in Sac. I agree with above that Thunder will be top 3 next year. 7th or 8th this year and 3rd next year is very doable with all their young guns.
<< <i>NBA junkie here. Just bought Bill Simmons new book and am gearing up for my beloved Celtics opener tonight. >>
I'll be ordering the book shortly myself. Can't wait to read it. I have really liked the excerpts so far on ESPN.com.
Go Sixers in 2009/2010!

The biggest "C" being that cancer, Rasheed. He did help the Pistons (my hometown team) win a championship, but was basically a distraction most of the time he was here. I suspect he'll get tired of playing second fiddle to KG shortly and start whining like usual. Then he'll give you a couple killer quarters for a while before fading into his normal waste-of-a-jersey self. Sad thing is (and I've said it many times), this guy has/had the talent to be one of the most dominant players EVER, but never had the mentality to be much more than a flash in the pan.

Elaborate. Nobody can deny that, with the exception of his first year here (Detroit), he was basically an underachieving distraction. He's got one of the best post games in the league, but fell in love with playing the perimeter. He got lazy defensively as well. But this guy has never had the beast mentality for much more than a quarter since he was here, and there were signs of that happening more and more frequently while he was with Portland. He just gets lazy and worse yet, becomes a distraction to all around him.
Also watched the Warriors play Houston last night. Oracle Arena was sold out and rockin. The Warriors, as usual, scored points and let Houston score one more point. Houston was on fire hitting 12-26 from three point range and also hitting mid range jumpers all night long. Curry started at point guard as a rookie [something Don Nelson rarely if ever has done in the past] and played well. Monta Ellis is back at full strength after his MoPed injury fiasco last season. He is explosive going to the rim and is developing into a go to scorer. The Warriors have lots of young, talented players that will be entertaining to watch if you like race horse basketball. Unless they jell and go on a hot streak, beating teams that they usually do not beat, the playoffs are unlikely for them though.
While watching the games yesterday, I continue to be amazed at how fast, strong and fearless the players are. When they play good team basketball the NBA game is fun to watch. However, as is so often the case in the NBA, particularly the regaular season, much of the games are boring, with one or two players per team going 1 on 5 dribbling the ball trying to create an open shot, only to through up a last second prayer from the perimeter with a defender or two draped all over him with 1 second left on the shot clock, while the other four players on his team stand around wathcing.
