Signed baseball - authentication worth it?

Hi, I have a baseball signed about 20 years ago by Tim Foli, Tug McGraw, Ernie Foli, Al Oliver, Bobby Bonds, and Randy Jones ... got it when they were on a Euro. tour of military bases, support our troops and all that, I presume. Some of these guys were big deals back in the day, so I figured it must be worth something. Plopped it up on ebay a month ago for starting bid of $50, but got no bids at all.

I understand that it is very important to most collectors to have autographs authenticated; I wonder if this is the reason no one made a bid. However, (looking at PSA/DNA website) it would cost me $100 to have these autographs authenticated. My question is, is this worth it? (Would the ball be worth much more than that?) Thanks.

It's not worth it to have authenticated.

It doesn't fit into how most autograph collectors collect - it's not single signed, it's not a full team, and it's not a theme of people who accomplished the same thing or are otherwise remembered together.

Keep it and pass it on to one of your heirs.

No one on eBay would have been worried about certification for that ball. It's not worth the fees.

Hi, hello, how are ya? image The advise already given is right on the money. I have a bit of memrobilia that means something to me but there is really no resale value. Hopefully this ball has meaning to you.

Probably didn't have much meaning to him since he already tried to sell it once for $50.
