That's the best '52-s Frankie in Existence !!!! >>
Thanks Jon, glad you like it. I gotta' say, I've never seen anything close to it. I had no intention of buying a '52-S in this grade (NGC MS67), but when I saw it (some years ago at Santa Clara in the spring) it was so obviously better than anything else out there it was stunning. The dealer wanted too much for it though so I held off. By the fall Santa Clara it was obvious to him that he had overpriced himself and I made a serious offer and picked it up for 2/3 of what he had originally asked for. I sent it in to NGC for a designation review and (big surprise) it came back MS67*.
I was pm'ing back and forth with Bushmaster8 some time ago (when I first posted this sucker) and he mentioned that he had (many moons ago) seen the Mint Set that this came from. The owner was willing to sell the P and D cards (which were supposedly pretty awesome too), but would not sell this card. Obviously the owner eventually sold either the card or the coins in the card. Supposedly the reverse toned Frankie for the card is a match for this obverse... it would be really cool to find it.
I like your '54-S (and that '47 you posted to the Washies for the weekend thread). They be pretty!
I could post a bunch of slabbed 1908-S cents, but we've already have a nice lookin example at the top of the thread.... so how about some more San Francisco gold!!!!

I forgot and left a light on for that pic.
2nd is a Philly without the light, I like the pic.
Now, if I could learn how to focus...
