Bazooka Panels

Does anyone know if PSA will grade and encapsulate a complete Bazooka Box? Or is it necessary to cut up what is otherwise a "beautiful" 1971 Complete Bazooka Box into a panel in order to have it graded and added to my Player Set? Help!!!!!!!!Please!!!!!!!!!

    They definitely slab complete boxes.
  • They definitely as of a couple of months ago DO NOT slab 71's or 62's, or 67's. They are too big to fit in any of the current PSA holders! I really hope they get bigger holders! I have a '62 just waiting for the day! As far as I know they will grade other years which are small enough to fit in their holders. They graded my 1965.

Looking for a 1960 Bazooka complete box -$300 finders fee for anyone who leads me to one!

Howard is correct -- I should have qualified my comment to include only those that fit into a current PSA holder.

    CURRENT PSA HOLDER SIZES

Below are the current approximate card holder sizes. These are the maximum sizes; there are many inserts available to provide a more custom fit for smaller cards. Please note that all cards and tickets vary in size. Occasionally, a card or ticket will not fit into the designated holder. If this occurs it will be placed in a Mylar sleeve and put in an oversized holder. There are also card/ticket issues that PSA's current holders cannot accommodate, but may be holdered in the future as new holders are introduced.

    Standard - 2 11/16" x 3 13/16"
    Tall Boy - 3 1/2" x 5 1/ 6"
    Supersized (Ticket) - 3 5/8" x 7 1/2"
    Supersized (Check) - 4 1/4" x 10"
    T-3 Holder - 5 3/4" x 8"
  • I measured the 71 Bazooka Complete Box ............ 4 3/8 x 10 1/4 ..............larger than the largest that you have listed. Sounds like a "no" to me. Thanks for your help.

I have seen a complete Bazooka box graded & slabbed
I just checked the pop report to verify, and saw the 1959 box w/ Mantle (the one I remember) slabbed

had a gorgeous '66 Bazooka box that I needed to add to my Yaz #1 set. Sent it in hoping...

and they did grade the complete box a PSA-6. Not sure if it is bigger than the '71, but I was not about to cut up a beautiful '66 box!

Try it and see what happens
  • I am just guessing ...... but possibly the earlier Bazooka boxes were smaller than the later ones i.e 1971
  • No Need to guess. Based on size PSA should grade boxes from 1963,1964,1965 and 1966. They currently would not grade 1962's, 1967's and 1971's. I am not sure about 1959's, 1960's and 1968's- which by the way if anyone has any I WANT TO BUY THEM! Happy collecting!

here is a pic of the graded '66 Yaz Bazooka Box. It is a beauty! Not sure why it only got a 7.5

  • Thanks for the Picture. The 1971 panel that I have measures 10 1/4 tip to tip. Is that larger than the one you have graded? I appreciate you taking the time to check

yes it technically shoudl say "box", but I am glad it does not since I was abel to add it to my Yaz Master Set. Anyone can see it is a complete box. So I am OK with it this way.

thanks for the compliment on the Yaz set. I am about to add a '64 Bazooka in PSA-9.

I am almost at the coveted 90%!!
  • You may request to have the box relabeled and properly added to the set as a box. These will start to be added to the registry sets as people submit them. As stated earlier, the only boxes that PSA will grade so far are 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1966. The box is MUCH harder than a panel - my guess is for starters you would be the only one with one in your set!
