NEED HELP! ARE THESE AUTOS REAL MANTLE & DiMaggio

I traded for these Mantle and Dimaggio signed balls in 1995 from my local card dealer. I traded a bunch of hot 90's cards for the two autos. That 90's stuff now is pretty much junk. Good trade if they're real.

I feel the Dimaggio is legit, but the Mantle doesn't look right. Even though I liked to gamble I don't want to send $200 plus to PSA/DNA and find out they are fakes.

What do you guys think? I appreciate the feedback.

    Mantle looks wrong.

JD looks a bit wide, but kinda close.

    .........

PSA/DNA can give a Quick Opinion cheap.

    You may have to list it on EBAY, to get that service;
    give 'em a call.

  • Mantle is certainly no good.
The dimmagio doesn't look good to me, and has many of the characteristics of a common fake.

Considering what has probably happened to the value of those '90s cards, good trade even if they're fake. [Not much of an if on the Mantle ball (it's quite bad), and I don't have enough knowledge to render an opinion on the DiMaggio.]

What's wrong with the Dimaggio that makes it "no good"?

Great, Now I have batting practice balls.

It looks like "art," and the letters are a little further apart
than the real ones I am comparing.

  • Yes, both are forgeries. Batting practice balls are a pretty accurate way to describe them..
  • That is a terrible Mantle and the Dinmaggio looks way too deliberate to be real. Kind of like someone was taking extra special time to write the signature instead of a smooth flowing affair.

Both would make excellent dog toys.

    Justin,

You nailed it ... Terrible Mantle!

I agree that the DiMaggio almost looks too fabricated to be real!

75% of all DiMaggios are fake.

Chances are that one is too.
