Packers bring back Ahman Green; place Wynn on IR
Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers brought back a familiar face Wednesday with the signing of running back Ahman Green.
Green played seven seasons in Green Bay from 2000 to 2006 which included four straight trips to the Pro Bowl ('01-'04). The 32-year-old amassed 8,162 career rushing yards with the Packers and needs 46 more yards to surpass Jim Taylor as the franchise's all-time leading rusher.
Last season, Green rushed for 294 yards and three touchdowns over eight games for the Texans in his second year with the team. The Nebraska product began his NFL career with Seattle in 1998 and spent two seasons with the Seahawks before moving on to Green Bay.
In 140 career games over 11 NFL seasons, Green has rushed for 9,045 yards and 59 TDs while adding 14 additional scores on 375 receptions for 2,865 yards.
The signing was made necessary after the Packers placed running back DeShawn Wynn on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury. Wynn appeared in four games this season and gained 19 yards on the ground with two catches for 19 yards.

1 - he didn't think his career was over and nobody wanted him
2 - he can catch screen passes and ryan grant can't
3 - he's a good blocker, and the line isn't
I'm glad to see him back, and wondering if he'll talk another fullback out of #30

Injury bug just crushed him with the Texans. From what I recall, he got hurt on the first series of the first game last year.
Honestly hope he shines in GB, he's a good dude.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Regardless of how well he does, it's good to see him back in green & gold where he belongs.
