Does this mean my scanner crapped out?

    Did you try unplugging it to reset? I had one once that did that and after a reset it worked ok.

    If that doesn't fix it I love my epson perfection 4490 photo. Easy to use and makes good scans. Whatever you do make sure it has CCD or it won't scan slabbed cards worth a crap!

    My all-in-one started to scan slabs in two or three separate sections just like yours Ted.

    The flip would be separated and the rest of the slab was cut in half.

    I fixed it with a 4 lb sledge.

    After that, I bought an Epson Perfection Photo and am happy to this day.

    Question - what exactly is CCD? My scanner doesn't do well with slabbed cards, so I assume I don't have it? its not like its some option I have turn on or something?
