Question on 1979 Topps FB Purchase

I am looking to buy a box from Steve of 1979 Topps Football. I was wondering which box would yield the most high end cards. Steve has a wax box and a cello box that are around the same cost. Anybody ever bust a box of either of these? Thanks

I would think the wax would be the better way to go.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

    I would second that.

The cellos are likely to be wrapped too tight, damaging the corners of many of the cards within the pack.

  • Thanks guys for the info. I was really unsure about the cello cause out of all the ones I have busted, several cards had dinged corners.

You should generally stay away from cellos until you get to the 80s. At some point, they started to wrap the cellos a little looser and you are able to get decent cards from them.

I wouldn't start busting cellos untill '83 football.
