1951 Topps Connie Mack's All Stars

How did I miss this one? I didn't think that there were any St Louis Cardinals in this set, so I have never looked for them. By accident this morning, I ran across a Grover Cleveland Alexander from this set, and, sure enough, he is wearing a Cardinals uniform. Now, I have to put this card on my want list. There is one on ebay, but is a little pricey. I am wanting one a little bit lower condition.

Anybody know where I can find one? I have looked briefly, and can't locate one. Anybody know a good online store that might have one?

I found that one. I was wanting one a little cheaper and in lower grade. I can't find another one.

  • The Connie Mack All Star cards come up every once in a while but you will need to put the GC Alexander card into your saved searches and be patient. The ebay store items are always there and are over priced compared to what you will eventually find the card for. I bought my Alexander in a PSA 3 for $300 nearly 3 years ago. As long as you are patient you will eventually find the card in the grade you want for a price you are not unwilling to pay. But it may take awhile. The two Collin's cards seem to show up the most followed by Ruth, Wagner and Gehrig. The others such as Alexander, Mack, Cochrane, etc. don't show up that often. I still need Ruth and Mathewson to finish up my set. If you find a reasonably priced source for these two cards let me know. I've got my set scanned and it can now be viwed at the link in my sig line.

    Good luck,
