I believe that the whole SAE unc series is undervalued but not so much because of numismatic premium. There are a couple of dates that have a large premium attached but for most of the series, they are bullion and nothing more.
They are surely destined to be the staple of the barter bidness. In a revaluation/meltdown of the currency, they will be a staple for any exchange of valuable goods. In a mad max scenario, they are precious beyond any value they may have now. In a silver run scenario, they are better money than the stock market and they are so much less vulnerable than dollars or stocks. They are as good in China as they are in Moscow, Singapore, Quito, anywhere in the world, they are barterable, sellable, valuable little metal disks that can be doled out one at a time or by the tube or by the monster box. Also, they are too small in value to counterfeit so that's a good thing but they are big enough to mean something. I look at them as little metal $20 bills.
I believe they are undervalued and should be so in demand that they have a significant premium over spot but for now we live in fairy land and we can get them for about a buk over spot...life is good. Also, I would not discount the design, it's tidy, symbolic and all in all, a pretty handsome coin. The nice thing about them now is that they are as plentiful as rain drops in the Spring and that may not be the case for much longer and after that time comes...then I believe that you will see that they are grossly undervalued at this time.
