Used to be a card shop on Harbison (15 minutes from downtown) off of 1-26 near the Olive Garden. Not sure if its still there. I escaped several years ago.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

  • Nope. That card shop is gone. There's a comic/collectable store on Bush River road between the 26 and Broad River. Not sure if they sell cards. Store looks expensive from the ouside...

Other than that, none that I know of.

What's the name of that store,,,, Heros and Warriors? Anyway, they don't have cards, just comics and comic memorabilia.
I made the mistake of stopping there one day looking for packs to rip.

There are two shops that I know of. One is just over the Gervais St. bridge in Cayce, and the other is in the 602 (Platt Springs Rd), and Emanuel Church Rd shopping center.
I don't know the names of either shop, and I've never been to either shop, so don't except much if you go to them.

Rudy's is the one that is just across the Gervais St. bridge.
As far as I know All Star doesn't exist.

  • All Star is a T shirt place now I think

    Wow, memories.

I lived in Columbia from 1993 -1996 and there used to be several decent shops.

Rudy's was pretty good. The All Star place was converting out of cards even back then, more to t-shirts and the like.

There was a really good card shop in an antique store about a mile from Rudy's - I can;t recall the name but it was just after you cross a bridge where the lamp posts look like lollipops.

And if you are going to Columbia, you HAVE to stop at Rush's (local fast food chain) for the best milkshake you can buy for under $2. The cheeseburger basket is good too...

I was told awhile back by board member rajah424, that there is an antique shop at the corner of Huger and Blossom that has cards. It's not far from Rudy's.
Greg, do you know if the one you're talking about is on a corner?

Edited: I found this place. It's called Chic Antiques, 602 Huger Street, Columbia, SC 29201. (803)765-1584

  • I think you're talking about Safran's.

I moved away 20 years ago, but back then it was a really cool place just to wander around in. They're still very active on ebay.

That is the one - Huger and Blossom. It is in a big brick antique store with a storefront that faces another antique store across the parking lot from it.

Always ask if they have any "good" stuff that is not out. I got a beautiful 1977 Topps Baseball wax box this way, and was only a few days late for the 1969 and 1970 Topps Football wax boxes they sold the weekend prior. This was in about 2000.
