Official Thread Of (Hopefully) An 0-16 Season By A NFL Team

As noted in previous threads here and here, every NFL season, I hope for two (2) things; for the 49ers to win the Super Bowl (STILL not going to happen) and a NFL team going 0-16. The Detroit Lions rewarded "my efforts" last year with a triumphant 0-16 season.
This year, we have four candidates; the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams. The Titans have been truly unfortunate and could easily be 2-3. They'll win a game sooner or later (unless, perhaps, they decide to start Vince Young. In that case, all bets are off.) The Buccaneers are a bad team, but not a horrific team. They could win a game here or there. The Chiefs? They have a 3 point loss and a overtime loss. And they play the Raiders in Week 10. A victory is sure to come. No, I'm pinning my hopes on the Rams. They been outscored by 112 points in 5 games. That works out to a nice 22 point average loss. Up next, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Rams schedule is brutal. 5 of their first 8 games are on the road.
Their three home games?? Green Bay, Minnesota, and Indianapolis.
That's a schedule that would make any mediocre team look absolutely terrible.
The Rams will win two or three games after the schedule eases up.
The Raiders, Chiefs, and Bucs are indeed terrible.
<< <i>I'm an Indiana boy and big Colts fan, so I don't want to come off sounding like a Rams fan.......but consider this.

I agree, their schedule IS brutal -- that's why they really have NO SHOT of beating anyone except the Lions.

And to make matters worse, they get the Lions on the road.

If the Bucs manage to pull it off....again they should just join the CFL.

However I don't think Detroit will be their best shot at a win. To me Detroit is playing pretty well at least much better than St. Louis and with a young QB and other players they all have something to prove so I think they play hard all year. They gave Pittsburgh and Minnesota very good games already.
I think sometime during the later part of their schedule they could get a win against a team that is now out of the playoff hunt. Their last 4 games are against Tennessee, Houston, Arizona and SF. I think 3 or all 4 could be eliminated by then. Obviously Tennessee would be the pick and if they are in week 5 of a VY experiment then that would be the shot but I predict Houston will be the team as it will be at home and I don't doubt Houston will be on its way to a 7-9 or 8-8 at best record by then.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
The Raiders, on the other hand, could not win another game this season. They are a train wreck!

<< <i>Chiefs have had a much harder schedule then the Rams so far, which only one easy game (Raiders). I guess this is due to the AFL anniversary, but Chiefs have to play all the NFC North teams this year. >>
I think you meant the NFC East. All teams have to play the complete crossover NFC (or AFC) division that they are slotted to play that year, every year, not just since it's the AFL anniversary. But, I agree, their schedule has been brutal so far.
