The 2009 New York Football Giants -- getting THRASHED by Philly

Yep, the lowly Raiders. But boy did the Giants just TOY with them. Even with David Carr at the helm after Eli stuck a fork in them in the first half.

Big game next week ....

NO will be a true test for the G-Men...if they can shut down Brees & Co. that will be quite a feat..

Honestly lets be real here- first off being a well known Yankee/Giant hater let me begin to say that the Yankees are no joke, well above what I thought they were and looking like the best team in the majors so Im not being a "biased" NY hater here...........BUT how the hell can anyone talk up the Giants when they have been blessed with quite possibly the WORST teams to play? I mean lets be totally honest here has any team had an easier schedule? A complete joke of a schedule if you ask me!

    Paul,

Most of your arguments hold water. This one does not. Please forgive the Giants for having a THREE game easy stretch. Forgive the Giants for dominating in those games.

Lets be real, teams have easier stretches in their schedule. The Giants just finished theirs. Also Paul, you don't watch these games. The Giants are a real threat.

I admit he looks hurt not washed up, remember he got hurt during the foolish preseason not to mention the defense is not that great and we dont have a running game.

Im not saying the Giants are not good or not better than the Pats because they are in my mind, however spouting off about being 5-0 when youve played the probably the worst teams to ever set foot on an NFL field ( Oakland/Tampa Bay ) and that pitiful KC squad just doesnt sound like you got a 5-0 team that should be bragging thats all. Good for you guys being 5-0 yes your Defense might be the best ever and yes I know Eli was hurting but lets revisit this say week 10?

They also opened vs Washington, a team that is just as bad as most of the winless teams left in the league. Just sayin', LOL..

  • This ain't the BCS gentlemen. No points for strength of schedule. The match ups were slated seven years ago.

The NFC East inter and intra conference opponents just happen to suck this year and most of the NFC East plays these teams early. The real season is about begin with stronger opponents and divisional play.

The Giants and Colts look great. Can't see them in any type of losing streak this year, barring injuries. Denver may be the real deal too.

Brady will need another year to hit his previous stride. The key may be how he deals with it. He looks troubled at the moment. It must be hard having such success and then being forced to play with limitations. Maybe he'll find a way to work through it before the end of the season.

And you have an open invitation to step right in and speak your mind Dan! Maybe I shouldnt have said "spouting off" actually I shouldnt have and I apoligize, my main point was that the Giants have had the easiest schedule I have seen in YEARS thats all, they should be 5-0 and they are. Who knows maybe they will be 16-0? Who knows maybe they will go undefeated all the way to the Super Bowl and lose to the Pats by some silly circus catch image

Should be a good game this week and set the tone for the NFC East match ups coming soon.

The second half of the season is going to be a barn burner in the Division. In addition to the Division play Philly and NY play Denver, Atlanta and SD among others.
