85 Down--1966 Leaf Good Guys and Bad Guys Completed in PSA 8 or Better

My 12th non-sport set completed with each card in PSA 8 or better comes from collector Jim Damiano who also has the number one set for this issue--1966 Leaf Good Guys and Bad Guys. I have seen cards from this set and thought it might be an interesting one to build from scratch. Out of the blue, Jim e-mails me and offers me his second set that had each card psa 8 or better so it was an an easy decision for me--one more set complete to put in my museum.

My set ranks 6th in the PSA Set Registry with an 8.27 Set Rating. The top set belongs to Jim at 9.03. The 72-card set consists of 14 PSA 9s, 11 PSA 8.5s and 47 PSA 8s. Among other luminaries, the set contains caricatures of Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Geronimo and Sitting Bull. I will let the set rest at this level.

This set represents my 12th vintage or semi-vintage non-sports set completed in PSA 8 or better and my 85th overall. The goal remains 100 vintage or semi-vintage sets in PSA 8 or better. I appreciate the help of all collectors and dealersa in helping me achieve my goal.

    Sonny,

Not just quick with this set--I hit the trifecta this weekend and will have another big one to announce tonight.

    Doug,

I did not know you were from Suffolk Co-where?

Halos Fan and Cougar--thanks, I think its a cool set.

Joe--I don't remember seeing them either growing up although 1966 was my last year of collecting as a kid.

    Doug,

I moved to Westhampton at age 7, was born in Huntington and lived in Kings Park until age 7. On one of my trips out to Westhampton maybe I will drop off a few early 70s basketball cards for you.
