<< <i>Had no idea that card was worth that much graded! Will have to dig some out, and take a look at them! >>
I'm not quite sure what it's worth since so few have received the grade. I asked in the registry forum if anyone had any info on the sales of the other two or any ideas of what a fair asking price was but didn't get much feedback. Again, I am accepting reasonable offers and would love to hear the input from the Ryan registry guys to help price it correctly is I am off here.
What I do know is that this card and the #659 w/ 665 back are both very tough to find in mint condition. One reason that they are tougher than their corrected versions is that the corrected versions can be found in the factory sets where they come out much cleaner/gradeable. The wax issued stuff is almost always has corner or edge issues. It also comes from the first run of 1990 Donruss, Donruss corrected these and the Harold Baines #660 cards first then slowly started correcting the more-common errors after. Plus, this error was very popular back then and was heavily traded which I think lends to why I have had such a difficult time finding mint copies.
This is one of the cards that got me into error and variation collecting back in 1990 and I have picked these up over the years ever since.

The Harold Baines was the all-star card? There were so many errors in Donruss that year. Mine are probably from wax, but I have them somewhere. The Tom Glavine/john Smoltz error is pretty well known from that set.
Yeah, the Baines All-Star is one of the few first-run corrections. The Smoltz MVP was corrected at the end of the run, there are many more of the error than of the corrected, but since it's from 1990 Donruss, neither are really scarce.

I know I have some Baines all-star errors, but werent there a a few different variations? I remember something about the lines on the card and the yellow star. Any scans you have would be great!
I don't have scans but this is what's confirmed for Harold Baines' all-star card:
#660A with black line through star, "recent major league..." on back. #660B with black line through star, "all-star game..." on back. #660C without black line through star, "recent major league..." on back. #660D without black line through star, "all-star game..." on back.
Rumored:
#660 with NO star on front (doubt it exists, but I distinctly remember hearing about this in 1990) #660 with WHITE star on front (doubtful too, but I have seen a couple common All-Stars with WHITE stars on front instead of yellow)

That helps. Thanks. I have all 4, just have dig them out, amongst my thousands of cards. Never heard of the no star or white star.
