Guess the date my August Special will pop. It was logged in 9/10/09 although they got it on 9/03/09. I'm thinking it could be any day now.
If there's a tie, the one who guessed first gets it. (ie 9/24 and someone said 9/26 and it pops 9/25; whoever chimed in first).
Total Items: 60

You can win both cards! You can edit if someone else picked the answer you wanted. That's it. Time for a xanax.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the encouragement. It's only my life.

    It's 10:40PM and I'm still reviewing.
I better make sure I get up at 6AM; have some coffee
and then pop a xanax lol before the exam at 8AM.

I have freaked out and had a panic attack before. Only happened
once during an exam for Anatomy. My professor was cool though. Even
though we're not allowed to use the restrooms (cos possibility of cheating) during
the exam, he understood and allowed me to take a breather outside. I popped a pill
and washed my face with water in the bathroom. I was hyperventilating and gasping
for air in class. It was embarassing. I felt boxed in or something. I went back in
and asked if I can sit quietly in a corner where the rats in cages were and the cadaver
was behind me. Pretty funny. I did get an A on that test too.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have had a couple anxiety attacks so far in my college career, and I feel them creep up from time to time.

I'll be a college English professor when I'm finished to pay for my writing career and I've been thinking a lot the past few years on how I will structure my class. I'd really like to not have a final exam or if the school requires that I administer one, make it only worth about 10% of their grade.

    good luck!

    Nothing sucks worse than anxiety.

My whole family has an anxiety disorder, or some weird neural disorder.
I'm one of 4 kids, and 3 of us have it. My older sister is bipolar. My younger
sister is a complete lunatic. Can't hold a job, boyfriend, or anything. She's been
on meds for 25+ years. My younger brother escaped it. He's a recluse and plays
XBOX360, Wii, PS3, and other computer stuff. I think that may be a problem in itself,
but it makes him happy. I think it's his escape from reality....not sure.
My mom has it too. So I think we all got it from my mom's side.

I take lexepro everyday and it makes me normal. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by
something subconsciously, I need a little more help, so I take xanax. I don't take xanax
very often. Maybe 4 or 5 pills per month so I'm not addicted.
  • MULLINS5MULLINS5 Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭
I usually don't get them (anxiety attacks) but tests can be so stressful and sometimes I wonder if it is even worth going to school. I know that in your field it's important that you take these tests but for English majors I am not sure exactly what it is...maybe the 10+ years of school is just a sign of commitment? IDK but I feel as if I'm qualified to teach already, at least much better than some professors I've had.

As far as family - I rarely have ever seen dad, he's consumed with his business and haven't seen mom in twenty years. I'm the youngest of three with two older sisters so they've been married for years and are off doing their thing. I call one of them every now and then for legal advice, the other, I saw her a few weeks ago for the first time in 17 years, but we try to keep in touch online, she moved from Japan to California, so we can't really see eachother. I've always been sort of a recluse myself. I don't like going out and pretty much stay at home and read, so I can see how your brother is with his xbox. Playing hockey is the only thing I really do that is social and it is a great way for me to keep my head clear as whenever I'm on the floor or ice my mind is ---- blank, nice little escape.

You'll do so well, you won't even mind that your sub doesn't pop until 11-2.

I passed! I got an overall score of 72.4% and I'm rounding it out to the nearest % which is 72%.
The winner is daddymc. PM me your address and I'll be more than happy to ship out your prize to you.

I could of scored higher, but the clock ran out on me on equations. I had 10 unanswered questions which
automatically counts as a wrong answer. I didn't sleep well at all. I was lucky to get between 1 -2 hrs of sleep.
I kept tossing and turning and woke up numerous times in the night.

I'm just glad it's over with. Some people left the testing center crying. I don't know if that's good news or bad
news for them. Anyway, I will take my physical, drug test, and background check in Nov., and I'll start my clinicals in the Spring.
I'm gonna take a nap now.

Thanks again guys. I feel a lot better now image

In my defense, the section was loading up the pages extremely slow.
Everytime I clicked "next", I timed it between 30 - 60 seconds and it was ticking me off. I did complain
to the proctor, and he said everyone always has problems and not enough time
for the math (includes chemistry equations, physics, word problems, conversions, etc) section.
He said he'll have to talk to the Dean and the department....a lot of good that does
me at that very moment. Every other section, the pages opened quickly.
Sorry Jim. I let you down. I might of gotten 75% for you.

Your testing experience reminds me of when I took the CPA exam years ago. It was a stressful two-day 16.5 hr test. I got a max of two hrs sleep each night before and almost passed out during the second day! I passed though and I'm glad neither one of us has to go through that again.
