If he is arrested and charged criminally [assault and battery, both of which are felonies], I would suspect that the league would have to take action against him [suspension] even if the Raiders do not take action. That would mean an interim coach taking over the helm of the team.

I can see it now, bench warrant issued while the teams in NY. just as the raiders take the field on Sunday, New York's finest come out on the field and arrest him.

If an arrest warrant is issued and executed by the police, it will be a warrant issued by the Napa County. Calif. Superior Court since that is the location [where the Raider's hold training camp] where the incident took place. The Napa County Sheriff, the Napa Police Department, the Alameda County Sheriff or the Oakland Police Department could be the police agency(ies) that execute the warrant.

I suspect that if a warrant is issued, there will be no need to formally execute it [why have a public spectacle of Cable being arrested and cuffed]. Legal counsel for Cable would contact the Napa County DA and make arrangements for Cable to appear voluntarily for arrest, booking, arraignment, bail and quick release.

A prearranged surrender, outside of public view, would deprive John/Jane Q Public of his/her constitutional right to leer, gawk and make fun of the public embarassment of others.

Public Figures who get into trouble should be dragged through the streets in chains for our viewing pleasure, don't you think?

The higher profile the Public Person the more public his/her humilation should be.
