So, do you think Jerry Jones is going to be the next Al Davis?

Will Jones and his large ego result in a "Raiders like" decline for the Cowboys as Jones gets old, and older?

Or do you forsee Jones one day making the choice to step away from day to day operations and let the franchise be run by others?

yes, although to his credit Al Davis did accomplish quite a few achievements in his early career that really helped pro football

I hope my favorite sports owner, the distinguished Mr. Jerry Jones, lives to be at least 180.

    LOL.....shaddap!

Jone's ego has been the reason the Cowboys have basically sucked since 1996. I don't see it getting much better either.

Its a shame he couldnt just accept that Jimmy Johnsons ego was justified and leave well enough alone, I figure it prolly cost the Boys at least two Super Bowls.

His son Stephen will take over when J J is done

I do not think that the Cowboys have been as bad as the Raiders over the past 100 games.

With yesterday's loss to the Texans, the Raiders record for the past 100 games is 25-75 (25%, or win one game, lose three games; repeat; repeat). Are the Cowboys even close to this W-L percentage over the past 100 games?

When Al Davis passes on his son will inherit his dad's ownership stake in the team. Whether he will step into his dad's shoes and exert day to day control over the Raiders is unknown.

When J. Jones passes on, his son will inherit his dad's ownership stake in the Cowboys. Does anyone know if he will step into his dad's shoes and exert day to day control over the Cowboys?

BTW, check out my Avatarimage,..................................."HOW ABOUT THEM BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"image

4-0 after beating the Cowboys yesterday. No one would have thought the Broncos would be undefeated four games into the 2009 regular season. I still think that Denver is not very good, but beating the Cowboys yesterday is a more significant victory than the prior three over the Browns, Bengals and Raiders. Now if they are 5-0 next week after beating their next opponent [the Patriots or Giants, I do not remember which one], that would be something to crow about.

I think he will be worse. Al Davis for years was known to do whatever it took to win, he was a student of the game. Weeb Ewbank (Jets/Colts) use to believe that Al Davis would spy on him....although he did scout Al Davis in the 50s for an assistant job.

Jerry Jones is Jerry Jones. This last year, Jones was only interested in his stadium. For example, cutting his problem Pro Bowl players to appease the media/city and replacing them with......ok, I can't think of anyone he added to the team to replace a Terrell Owens or Pacman Jones. While I do understand the problem with...well problem players, I still find it unwise to release Pro Bowlers and not sign anyone to replace them with. Unless your mission is to sell tickets and appease a city council (who likely helped pay a good share of the stadium....or at the min. gave him a couple year tax break).

Al Davis would have made the city give him some bones for the new stadium or told the city to screw themselves (again). Meaning, Davis could care less about PR.

I agree, signing Sanders and winning the Super Bowl after Johnson left has given him the false belief that he can run a football team. The 1995 team won b/c of what Johnson built and left behind.

1994 and possibly 1996. Those teams were still pretty talented but suffered from poor coaching.

I'm not sure if his son will be so arrogant and live in his own little world where he's always right. I think think his son realizes a team takes more than just a bunch of talented player thrown togather and it requires chemistry and good coaching. His support against not bring T.O. back was a good sign.

Personally I think we should have kept T.O. Sure he has issues, but he is an impact player. We need him. We need a different coach too! This guy is the true "bumb" Phillips.

I sure was hoping we would get Vick when he got out of the big house! We will never win with Romo and his destructive ways. And now Vick is a Philly..........AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
