I know I know Ineed a new one, but it works everywhere else. What the heck is on ESPNs site that causes it to lock my DELL Inspiron 6400 up. I like to watch the nfl scores and baseball scores, well the last few weeks it just wont cooperate. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to refresh a few times.
Firefox is what Im running.

that''s it - I went from the stone age with a Millenium Edition to the modern age with a Vista with plenty of RAM, etc and the difference was remarkable.
I think it is because it has so much graphic stuff on it that it slows everything down in loading, ESPN seems to do everything
to excess so that is not a big surprise that they pour on the graphics.
They should have a bare bones alternative website that just has the scores.

My opinion is I guess they figure if ya got money, ya probably got a new computer and money to spend on their advertisers, and if ya got an old computer, ya maybe ain't got no money so they don't care if their website works on an older computer.
<< <i>Lol well there you go, nice cheapshot lol... >>
wasn't meant at all to be a cheapshot - it was my opinion on how "they" think...and they're not some Good Samaritan...they're in business to sell advertising and make money for their advertisers..and they want to attract those viewers with the most money, otherwise why wouldn't they make their website more accessible?
New computers are cheap and with the newer memory sticks, hard drive info is easy to transfer to a new computer.

IE 8 is now available for free download, and it seems to be an improvement over IE7 - downloads are faster than before.

I really like Firefox but I have noticed this as well.....or at least when I am using my 3g. Direct cable and it doesn't matter.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Before purchasing a new computer, clean out your cookies and temp flies. Don't know how to on FF but for IE: tools -> internet options - > delete browsing history
Doing so will also delete any passwords you have saved on a particular website (ie CU).
Also to note for sites slowing down during "peak" hours, keep in mind they're getting bombarded and can't handle the traffic. cbssportline had this issue a couple of years ago but has since resolved it by upgrading their servers. The fantasy football division makes a carp load of money and they knew how vital real time access was. If anything, the java application takes the most time but once it loads, everything is pretty much instant.
