83 Down--1971-72 Topps Basketball Completed in PSA 8 or Better

Some would say that 1971-72 is hardly vintage and its on the borderline of what I would consider semi-vintage but I have 4 reasons for deciding to complete this set: 1)I played high school basketball at this time and can identify with the players from this era; 2)This set is next--I have completed 48 Bowman, 57 Topps, 61 Fleer, 69-70 Topps and 70-71 Topps in psa 8 or better and this set was next; 3)the regionals are next to impossible to finish--try finding a 61 Essex Meats Sihugo Green in psa 8 or a 69 Jack-in-the-box Barnes or Finkel, or any of the Kahn sets or my one missing upgrade for Busch Bavarian; and 4)I love basketball and I collect what I like--besides I had all these seemingly mint raw cards from this year hanging around. My raw cards comprise about 80% of the set and I filled in the remainder. On the same thought, I am now working on 72-73.
Once again I am happy to report that it is the efforts of another collector that put me over the top in this set. I was down to the final five crads and making only slow progress when Ken Horton who is second in this set with a 9.01 set rating e-mailed me and said he could supply two of the cards I needed in psa 8 and 2 I needed in psa 9. He sold them to me for more than a fair price and I was down to just 1 card. Soon after John Block appeared on ebay in psa 8 and I was done. Thanks Ken for your generosity and your help.
As I said recently on this board, I will be opening The Vintage Card Musum in Georgia sometime in the foreseeable future. I would envision one of the rooms being devoted to basketball.
I currently have an 8.53 Set Rating which puts me 5th on the PSA Set Registry behind J Jet J , Ken Horton, Greg Gelman and Donnie 22. I will let the set rest at this level.
This set represents my 8th vintage or semi-vintage basketball set completed in psa 8 or better and my 83rd overall. The goal remains 100 vintage or semi-vintage sets in PSA 8 or better. I appreciate the help of all collectors and dealers in helping me achieve my goal.

What can be said that isn't already known ?
Thank you very much.
Leadoff4,
North of Atlanta but not in the Mountains.
I made an error in my narrative, confusing this set with 1972-73. I bought the majority of cards from this set from all-world football card dealer Rick Snyder on Mint State Inc. in April 2006. Rick is the top football card dealer and perhaps basketball as well and has played a big role in helping me finish my sets.
Jim
Very nice accomplishments.
I'm trying to finish a 70-71 Basketball set in raw condition. The condition probably equates to PSA 6. I am 10 cards short. Do you have any raw cards from this set lying around?
Doug
Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Sure--I have 50-75 raw that should "8". Please e-mail me at jdc122@aol.com with what you need.
