Good for Fox to show a meaningful pennant-race game instead of forcefeeding us a meaningless Yankees or Red Sox game. image
  • Tick tock tick tock. 1/2 game back for the Twinkies.

The ChiSox game on AM670 from a few hundred miles away comes in clearer than The Twins' flagship AM1500 about ten miles away...

At this point, it looks like there will at least be a playoff game on Tuesday. I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins win the division. They're pretty darn hot right now... if they do make it to the postseason, their best bet would be to quick fire Gardenhire and perhaps they could beat the Yanks.

  • Ohhhhh look another fire Gardenhire rube. What a surprise! Look alot of these young players look at Gardy as a Father figure... He isnt going anywhere! It would really mess up team chemistry.

This is Major League Baseball, not a day care outfit.

    5-1 ChiSox...

  • Really... Tell me why Ron Gardenhire should be fired. Let me guess, it is his fault Nick Punto is hitting .230 this year. It is HIS fault Gomez just cant get his bat (patience) going. It is HIS fault that Joe Crede's back wouldnt hold up. It is HIS fault that bench players like Matt Tolbert, Brian Busher, Alexi Cassila really dont bring much to the table. It is HIS fault the pitching staff hasnt performed like we all expected..

What did I miss, I'm sure a great baseball mind like yourself, that just pointed out that MLB is NOT Daddy Daycare has some solid reasoning behind this.

    Ohhhhh... I know...

He SHOULD of shut down Justin Mourneau back in early September... I am sure he expected Cuddyer to just STEP IN and hit .375 with 7 hrs and 20 rbis in 20 games.

Please send in your resume to the Twins orginazation, I really did not realize MLB management was so easy.... LOL

I have no horse in this race, but Gardenhire is a terrific manager and anyone who thinks otherwise really isn't paying attention. What he does with this club, year after year, in the market they're in, even losing a beast like Santana from the rotation, is really impressive..

  • THANK YOU! The Twins have produced alot of SOLID MLB players during Gardenhires tenure. I kinda steams my beans when people say that it is all HIS fault when the Twins don't produce a division title. It isnt his fault we havent been able to keep guys like Santana and Hunter.

  • Jeez, the Tigers....

all season long.....all those games....all that micro-managing......all those pitching changes....that super long at bat in Texas by Ordonez in the 5th inning in July that produced a game winning hit.... all those games......all that junk we yakked about for months....

    It's all down to tomorrow.

Win and their in. And they damn well better! c'mon now!

Even if they WIN, they Twins have to LOSE... Which they havent done much of this Sept/Oct.

Im thinking this will be the 2nd straight year that the Twins have a 1 game playoff, and I am fine with that!

Oh, you can bet the season will end tied so the Tigers can get their hearts ripped out one more time in the baggydome. That will cap a perfect 4 day stretch that began with losses to those red a$$ed punks AJ Pierzynski and Ozzie Guillen image.

At least Michigan State won this weekend.

As a Twins fan, it is strange rooting for the White Sox...
  • Man I wish Jim Thome was still there cause he owes us one!

Is it no less strange than rooting for Brett Favre?

  • Not all Vikings fans hated Favre while he was a Packer. I was scared of the guy, but always likes the guy. Regardless of the fact that he played for Green Bay.

I'm a Vikings fan, period. Favre seems like the best option so I can roll with that. I think tomorrow night will almost be surreal.
  • Man Im pulling my hair out here..Royals are rallying big time...

Dang. Whoever wins is going to have a worn out starting rotation compared to the Yankees. Crap.

When it was 8-4 they had the bases loaded... But the Twins wiggled out of it...

I couldnt care less. If the Twins pull the Division out after they way they played for 130 games this year, thats good enough for me. One last Title in the Dome, next year we get Morneau back healthy, hopefully get Mauer signed, and improve our pitching staff. Delmon Young has FINALLY showed he can play. We just need a 3rd baseman. Maybe Cuddy goes there and we run Span, Young, and Kubel. Alot of young stars on this squad!
