Need ebay help!

Bought this on ebay and this is how it arrived today. I've never had to file a claim before and not sure how to proceed. Paid $4.90 for shipping and paid thru pp with a credit card. Auction states 3 day money back. Not sure if this was just a lazy seller or am i being scammed? This sucks because this looked like a really nice PSA 3

Should i contact the seller first or pp? What is the proper protocol to make sure i receive my money back if i return the card? Any help is appreciated.

Why do you think you are being scammed?

IMO it appears the seller tried to get over on the cheap with regards to shipping.

Sad, that looked like a nice card.

Contact him, keep it friendly and tell him the PWE didn't make it.

Seller trying to save a few bucks.

    File a claim ASAP.

    Steve,

Probably paranoid about it being a scam, but i'm just dumbfounded that someone would take such an expensive gamble to save a few dollars. I'm just pissed to anxiously wait to receive the card and this is how i get it. Card survived in pretty good shape for 100 years and now this.

So should i contact seller or file a claim?

Personally, I'd send the guy the pic you posted here, tell him you have already filed a claim and that you have reported him to eBay for excessive shipping.

Do not become adversarial at this point.

Simply contact the seller and see what he says.

If he says to pound sand then you simply go to PP (NOT EBAY) and file a SNAD.

You have 45 days to file.

I'd just tell the guy his PWE came and the slab did not make it through the postal machine.

    No need to threaten anyone......................yet.

As a fellow T206 collector, I feel your pain...seeing the picture of that Lajoie makes me want to cry!

I can't believe anyone could be such a complete moron as to send any graded card, let alone one worth that much, in a regular white envelope! image

It reminds me of the fact that we are all merely caretakers of the items we posess. We can't take them with us when we die, and they will eventually be posessed by someone else. It is therefore, incumbent upon us all to make sure we don't damage or destroy them.

    Corrected link.

A $300+ card sent in a PWE... ouch.

It was a beautiful looking 3 too.

    Blah.

    Snorto~

  • That's insane. If you want to sell the card let me know. I collect low grade HOF T206's.

Just file a claim. PP will take care of you.

  • How could anyone bring themselves to mailing a card like that in a envelope like that? I even use a padded envelope for family photos. Lame-o

What's even worse is the seller charged $4.90 for shipping and appears to have only paid $0.61 with no insurance, dc, or otherwise. It's really unbelievable that a seller would ship a $300+ card in an envelope completely unprotected (other than the holder itself which is very little protection).

Agree with others, file SNAD claim with PP and you'll have your money back soon. Hopefully the seller will learn a valuable lesson of how NOT to ship...

  • The card looked like a psa 4.5 Imo. and now it is a psa 1 at best! The only time I ever ship cards in an envelope is when I sell cards for under $5.00 and thats a gamble doing it this way any card that is an older Good very good that sells for under five bucks I send in an envelope marked Fragile do not bend . But i always have free shipping on the cards as well. Now this is just crazy! Was this person short on cash or what? This makes me sick!
