I picked up this France, UK and US gold D-Day proof set Friday morning (with cashback ) and just wondered how many sets were made/sold? I did a google and the only set I could find on the internet is this listing at Panda America. From their listing, it sounds like it could have been issued by the British Royal Mint.
-Update-
I received the set yesterday and it's pretty neat. It came in a Royal Mint box (see picture) and the certificate says that there were 500 sets made.
Thanks for the help

I don't think the other two coins were British Royal Mint, but I don't know if they packaged them together for sale.
They weren't an official set though.
I can tell you the proof 50p in gold (50th anniversary of Normandy landing) has an issued number of 1,877 and according to my Spink 2008 a guide price of £500 = about $798.266

Anyway, it looks like you bought a nice set for melt, and by the time you're as old as Wybrit it will probably be worth $10,000.....or more!
