Philly Show Newp #1...1913 Type 1 Buffalo Nickel

I always wanted a 1913 Type1 Buffalo Nickel, so I bought one at the Philly show yesterday.

What do you think? Eye-appeal and grade? Strike?

Hammered! That is a nice one- I am falling in love with this set but not sure I am financially able to put one together in the grades I demand...

Lovely coin! Would own it any day but it is a little white for me. I like mine with a little more crust.

Nice eye appeal, great strike and it looks really clean too. MS65-66 if the luster is there.

Typical strike for this date. MS65

I'll go MS64-65. The central obverse is terrific, the buffalo's mane has tons of detail and the tail is quite strong. I think LIBERTY is a tad mushy. I'd be curious to know what grade it fetches, if you choose to submit.

I'd agree that the Liberty is a little mushy and that the stike is "typical" based upon QDB's criteria. Luster is booming.

No need to apologize, Guy. Your assessment of Buff's is one that I value as I know how well
    you know the series.

This is certainly undergraded in my opinion. It is nicer than a lot of the pcgs and ngc ms67's I see floating around.

Hopefully im not hijacking the thread but since it has to do with Type 1 Buffalos I figured i would post onei got recently. Ill be interested in hearing how this one would grade. by the way the coin is not juiced in any manner, thats what it looks on hand when tilted at a slight angle. Nice coin i must say but im still wondering what the mark is on top, it almost looks burned. Anyways, hope to hear opinions on grade and such

Looks new to me ,a little shiny on the obverse possibly cleaned. I couldn`t see the lustre
on the first pic.I can see it now in the holdered pic. Nice coin. Grading by pics is always tough
unless you can realistically capture the lustre.
