End of a long hunt

When I first joined this forum I found my avatar on the cover of a Bi-Metallic Magazine. I purchased a silver example with the help of Spoon when over in Germany, but had not seen the one I wanted offered until yesterday. Ebay is a wonderful place to find stuff. This is his photo, I will publish mine when it arrives.

How do you think they made it? Is the gold bit in the middle plating or solid? If plated, do you think the planchet was plated before or after striking?

I believe the center area is an insert, Bi-Metallic.

Is it expensive? You don't have to answer if you don't want, but I've noticed a mintage of 1000 of your new coin. In 1990, Greece too minted a gold commemorative in 1000 pieces, a 1/4 oz 0.917 gold coin, that could easily be titled the last modern rarity of Greece, and I was thinking of re acquiring it, after owning it and selling it once.
