My New Ebay Listings Ad..After all the non payer excuses...Im writing this on my listings..

My new ebay listings will contain the following...

Due to the amount of bidders who dont pay I am asking you that if you are hitting the bid button please make sure of the following:

A) It is actually you who is bidding not a friend that took over your account. If you are the friend, DONT BID!!

B) If you are the owners dog that learned to log into ebay and search for the cards your master wants, please make sure you can pawn enough biscuts to pay

C) If you are the owners cat and high on cat nip, Don't bid..go scratch the couch.

D) Plase make sure your credit card limits have not been lowered whereas you now cant pay..Please log into your Credit Card company and check your available credit.

E) If you are not going to pay please save me the trouble and don't bid please. I mean really who are we kidding here?

Thank you..

It's sorta cute, and everybody should say what they want
    to in their listings.

    BUT.........

ANY kind of negative statements in a listing will cause
MANY good buyers to hit the back button FAST.

Further, there is ZERO "evidence" that buyer-hostile
statements in listings decrease the number of NPBs.

The farthest I would EVER go is:

"Your Prompt Payment Is Appreciated and Will Ensure The Prompt Shipment Of Your Order."

    ........................................

    Some folks use:

"If You Have Fewer Than 10-Feedback, Please Contact Me Before Bidding Or Your Bid May Be Cancelled."

It's not my style, but it's not terrible.

It lets the new guys know not to mess around, and it reminds the
old guys that a biz-deal is going down when they bid.

    ...................................................................

If not for BINs with Immediate Payment Required, I would
have stopped selling on EBAY a long time ago.

Sadly, going forward you won't even be allowed to put something like "If You Have Fewer Than 10-Feedback, Please Contact Me Before Bidding Or Your Bid May Be Cancelled." in your listings, as it may be considered detrimental language by eBay, and cause your listing to be poofed.

Good grief! I'm so sick that I thought I had posted to this thread and forgot it until I see that it was someone else using my icon. image
  • I agree to it not being a good idea. When you are selling high dollar stuff, you get the crack pots who want to bid with the big boys. Ebay is a blessing and a curse, and you are dealing with the cursed side of it. Just suck it up and move on. No need to piss off other bidders who aren't there to play games.

it's all about instant gratification, man.......when you hit that mouse, it's like a rush of adrenaline, but after the failure, that losing bid doesn't seem so powerful anymore, and you just move on.

even approaching an underbidder will result with the inevitable, "Uh oh. What's wrong?"
