1989 Ralston Purina

Anyone know why PSA doesn't slab this issue? It is in the standard cataloge. It has MLB PA logo on it, so it is licensed. I can't figure out why this card keeps getting returned? Any help?

  • Apparently, they're not slabbing the 1984 Ralston Purina cards either.

  • Maybe because the cards were licensed by the MLBPA and not MLB itself hence the lack of team logos. There were some other cards in the early 90s with players and dogs from Purina. I wonder if they slab those either?
  • That is interesting. There were earlier food sets that were licensed by MLB.

Does PSA not slab Burger King cards ?

    What is the difference ?

The reason they don't slab the 84's is that there were a ton of uncut sheets cut down after market.
They probably won't touch the 84 issue again may be the same for the 89?
I am pretty sure that they grade the BK issue

PSA slabs the 1977 Burger King cards and also the 1978, 1979, 1980, 1986 and 1987 issues.

I have examples from both 1984 and 1989 that are PSA graded [e.g. before they stopped grading them]

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
