RYK, posted a rather insightful thread the other day about what is a rare coin. He states that to him its any coin with less then 100 graded survivors at PCGS. The 1866 half eagle total number of survivors graded by PCGS and NGC combined is 92 coins! POP information was gathered from Heritage.
I agree with his statement and my collection backs it up. Most of the seated quarters and 1860's-1870's gold I collect are extreme rarities with tiny mintages.
For sale is an NGC F15 with motto 1866-S half eagle. This is a nice collector coin with natural circulated look. Due to a recent upgrade for my 1866 mint set I am selling off this now rare duplicate. I was fortunate to locate an 1866-S PCGS XF40 after years of searching for the right coin!
This coin is available for $850 shipped, with a 7 day no question return policy. Your refund will be for the purchase price. I will not cover return shipping.
Regarding trades, I have told you what I collect so offer my something related to those parameters.

If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around. Am I still wrong?
