Why I am selling my cards..Hope this answers your questions.

Many of you asked via pm and on my sales page why I am selling some of my cards/unopened. Rather than have another conspiracy theory surround my sales or me, here is the deal.

I have been working on a major transaction whereas I can purchase a multi million dollar equity position in a major company that I know all of you have heard of.
In order for my loan to be approved by the bank I need to strengthen my financials. I meet with my bank and they indicated I was very asset rich but my current cash position was short in what they wanted to see and they asked that I sell some inventory, now I could sell some of my land, or shopping centers but that would not close in enough time ( I wouldn’t sell in this environment anyway).
The fastest way for me to raise capital would be selling some of my collection. I can always buy cards again; this move will set me up for the rest of my life. While I do love cards and I am not exiting the hobby, I must not allow this opportunity pass.
I signed a confidentiality agreement and I am unable to talk about this transaction right now, once the deal is complete I will tell you the company name and how this was put together.

So if you want something I have in cards and it doesn’t involve breaking up a set, make me an offer, If you want to buy one of the sets, make me a fair offer.

If I have cards in an incomplete set you want, pm me and make me a fair VCP offer.

Hope this clears up why I am selling some cards..

i kind of agree with you, it's not like anybody's personal dirt needs to be on display here, especially with all the hovercraft beyond this forum....but ya know what?

Felicia is one of our STARS and i, for one, appreciate that she is willing to share with us, even from the loftiest perch.

GOOD LUCK Felicia, make it happen.

Felicia is well known and a fairly big buyer in the card market. If people see her selling off cards, it might create a "the sky is falling" affect.

Maybe the lovely Felicia should start a fan club newsletter for her groupies on the PSA forum...

I know a plenty of you fellas out there are hooked so maybe Felicia can distribute this newsletter to you fanboys yet keep some sense of privacy for herself from the general public.

I've come to sense that Felicia is a honest person who doesnt mind the attention.

Good luck on the future endeavors.

How is your bank loan being secured? I assume they will take a second position on your equity interests? Would the bank consider taking a security interest in the cards themselves as collateral enhancement rather than compelling you to sell them to meet their liquidity covenants? Maybe their underwriting standards are too tight, and I doubt they have an expert who can give them a decent appraisal of your collection. Just my two cents.

I really didn't think an explanation was necessary. If you want to sell, it's nobody's bidness but yours.

What are you insinuating? I have personally met a member of this forum who is a friend of Felicia's. He is one of the most respected members of this form and he vouches for Felicia. Felicia is legit.

If you are insinuating that she is a fraud, then I suggest you apologize immediately.

As a "new" member of these boards you might not know that we are generally respectful to the board members that we LIKE. Thus, Felicia being a well liked board member does not get treated rudely. You might think about apologizing. I realize you have not been here since August 2005, for example, and are a relative new "person" here. Just try to watch how others treat people we like and try to follow along. Feel free to pile on threads directed toward people most of us do not like... but you wouldn't know anything about that Mr. CaramelCollector.

    LMAO that's funny Barry!

I dont ask such questions because its certainly none of my business. But I will admit I do like to read about people's outside lives. Felicia is fascinating in the sense of her collecting and now business venture. Very fortunate whether or not self made. I guess some people are just more nosey or bold to ask. I was brought up that it wasnt polite. But give up the information and Im all ears image

I appreciate the information because I was getting worried. I hadn't yet sent a PM to find out what was going on, but often, when someone sells off their collection so quickly, there are health issues or emotional traumas involved. I'm thrilled to find out that it's neither. image

The comment regarding Spano was definitely a slap in the face; not cool at all.

However, (and this is just me and not intended as an insult by any means), if I owned multiple shopping centers, I'd probably already consider myself "set for life". I think thats the humorous element that Caramel was trying to draw out of Felicia's first post.

Don't sell your stuff Felicia image
  • 1972 thru 1976 wax boxes routinely appear at the major auction houses so letting them go is not a major lose as they can easily be replaced in the future. But a 1975 baseball rack case containing 72 pristine racks is a totally different matter altogether as they RARELY come up for sale anywhere.

If it was my case I would hang on to it at all costs...sincerely!

While it may appear that Carmel's comment was "rude" or "disrespectful," I seriously doubt that that was his intention. The parallel to Spano's comments was where the humor was intended and not a parallel to Spano's character (or lack thereof).

While I'm sure Felicia appreciates some of you having her back, it sometimes seems that some of you are bordering on some sort of stalker-like fascination with Felicia, her life and her collection. Sometimes, it would be nice to hear Felicia handle things rather than her "body guards" putting words and actions into her mouth.

The one thing that I've learned from a few PM's with Felicia and the content of many of her posts is that she's more than capable of handling herself and anyone that she feels needs to be admonished.

Her collection is top notch and it's great that she shares it, her knowledge and much more with us. Her generosity is virtually unparalleled, but dasm, some of you kiss up so hard seemingly to win adulation and/or the next freebie that she drops on the board. It is very concerning in many respects and oft times unnerving.

I'm sure this post will draw some flak, but if it does, then it's hit home . . . for those that protest too much tend to be doing so to disguise their true intentions.

I've been hurting the past few years.

I've had well over 2.5 million in real estate foreclosure investments.

I spent months selling-off my #1 all time 76 & 78 topps baseball registry sets,

plus hundreds of 1970s PSA 9s and 10s singles, graded vintage and more!

and selling-off one of the larger high end 1970s OPC baseball accumulations,

that I wanted to 'salt-away' for at least another decade or more, as a key investment.

Plus thousands of dollars worth of non-sports card sets

and graded high end non-sport card singles of all types.

    Then I sold-off my last high-end set right here on these threads;

    my all-time 1961 Nu-card football set all PSA 10s with some 9s!

I went from spending thousands of dollars per month on this hobby,

to a world of pain, "living on cardboard" since 2007. LOL!

I got "ribbed a little" by some here,

ribbed about me selling-off items that I mentioned many times that I was "salting away" for a rainy day.

Well, my "rainy day" came sooner than later! LOL!

Felicia, sell your cards, and make that deal of a lifetime! Don't worry, there will be hundreds, if not thousands of great vintage graded cards for you to buy every year for as long as you live!

I wish you good luck! image
