One man's happy poppage is another man's brutal....

I must have a lot to learn about the plastic influence on cards. I have read several threads today showing cards that have recently been graded. One is being congratulated and considered an 'Excellent" submission and the other is proclaiming it is the absolute worst ever. Neither had cards dated before 1979 and neither had lower than NM-8. All 8,9,10 or inbetween these numbers. Only 2 had an OC qualifier. Reality is, not every card is a 10. This is only my attempt to learn something and not meant to upset anyone. Thanks for any insite!

<< <i>The reason that I was upset with my sub is because I only send in cards that I feel have a great shot at getting a 10. A psa 8 and sometimes even 9's won't even sell for enough to pay the grading fees on a card. >>
Same here. I have a huge stack of cards in my "Sub one day" pile. Each sub I send in I look through the stack for cards that I think are surefire 10's. The only exceptions for me are the few pre-1970 cards I send in. A PSA 8 on a lot of the stuff I sub is completely worthless. Even a lot of the 9's are worth less than what it would cost me to ship it.
