Patch Autos?

I don't get It. I've sent in a few auto patches. And PSA kills on these cards. I just got an 8 and a 7. Hidden flaws that I think they undergrade. If this was Bowman Chrome they would get 10s. I just don't get It. PSA kills UD. Do they have a contract with Topps?

I get 10s on UD products as well as Topps products. There is no bias that I have seen.

Are these thicker stock cards? I think I've only ever pulled a handful of thicker auto patch cards out of a pack that were actually in mint 9 condition and definitely not 10s. Most have edge damage and usually have corner damage. You need to look at the corners with a loupe, both front and back. There is almost always at least one corner with damage or that has been pressured and rounded.

  • Do you have any experience with BGS on these Thicker cards? Seems like alot more 8.5s of these thicker cards.

Actually yes. I like their slab better for the thicker cards. My guess is that your cards will grade about the same. Not sure if there are more 8.5s or not, but in my experience 7's - 8.5's are pretty typical with really nice cards getting 9's. 9.5s are extremely hard to come by with the thicker cards. Usually the nicer condition thick auto patches I've gotten have been redemptions. I've only managed a couple decent ones through pack pulls. The packing process seems to do too much damage.

My experience as well. BGS does take this into consideration and you will get fair grades because of it.
  • Heres another Question. Does anybody actually care what thick cards grade? I'm new to sending In Patch cards. I might send In my next card into BGS just to see what It grades out. Depending on that I may try to crossover.

You don't want to crossover a BGS game used card(thick ones) to a PSA game used slab. I have a huge PSA collection and have about 7 PSA registries but I would never again send PSA another game used card because of the garbage game used slabs. I actually cracked a few game used cards from my PSA registry just so they could be properly protected in BGS slabs.
  • Yeah Sorry I mean I may Cross over my PSA to BGS.
