If silver goes to 40 dollars/oz

I am thinking about melting down all of my MS-64 CBH

and Gem seated Liberty Halves for the silver content.

Melt down a tripple or quadruple digit value coin for less than $20 each worth of silver? Makes sense to me. image

You cant melt down high grade coins like that.

Take them out of the plastic and scratch them up first.

Why would you melt anything where you already knew the exact silver content, purity, and weight?

I wouldn't melt them, I'd dip them first and get them nice and shiney.

Bear, I think that you could realistically hold out for $80/oz. before melthing your MS-64 CBH!!image
